Billing, seats and your AI allowance
RankRight charges for the websites you actively manage, not for people. Every plan includes a shared monthly AI allowance that grows with your client list.
- Pay per website, not per user
- Price per site drops as you grow
- Cancel anytime
How seats work
Your bill is a count of seats. Seat one is Base & Audit, and every active website after that adds one more.
Pricing is graduated. Each website is billed at the price band it falls in, so your cost per website only goes down as you add more. The current bands are on your Billing page under How pricing works.
On the Billing page, the Billable seats card links straight to the list of active websites you're paying for. It's a quick way to check nothing is there by mistake.
± Adding and removing websites
Your seat count follows your clients' Status, which you set when you add or edit a client:
| Status | What it means for billing |
|---|---|
| Active | Fully serviced and counted as a seat every month. |
| Paused (won't renew next cycle) | Still serviced and billed through this cycle, then becomes inactive automatically. |
| Inactive | No work and not billed. |
- Adding a website (how) charges one full seat up front. It isn't prorated because it covers that website's first month of service. After that, it renews monthly with the rest.
- Removing a website lowers your next renewal straight away. The up-front charge isn't refunded.
- Dropped one before any work was done? If a client is set inactive with no work done that billing period, its seat is automatically credited toward your next bill. If that was a mistake, an owner can click Cancel & reactivate under Unused-seat credits.
⚡ Your AI allowance
Writing blogs, analyzing sites, generating images and building reports all use AI. Every plan includes a monthly allowance for that work:
- $5 of AI tokens per seat is included at the start of each billing period.
- It's one shared pool for your whole organization, so a busy client can use what a quiet one doesn't.
- Paused clients still count toward the pool for the rest of the cycle, because they're still being serviced.
- It resets on the 1st. Unused allowance doesn't carry over.
You'll see it as a percentage: in the AI usage bar at the top of every page, and on the Billing page. The bar changes color as you get close to the limit.
At 100%, anything that uses AI, including report generation, pauses until the 1st or until an owner adds a top-up. Browsing your data and existing reports still works.
+ Top-ups
Big month? An owner can add more AI capacity at any time:
- Open Account → Billing.
- Under AI allowance top-up, enter an amount. The minimum is $5.
- Click Top up and confirm.
The extra capacity is added to this month's allowance and works for any AI task. Like the included allowance, top-ups don't carry over. For more than $1,000 in one go, contact us.
Subscribe, cancel and invoices
Everyone in your organization can see the Billing page. Only owners can subscribe, top up or cancel.
Subscribe
Click Subscribe on the Billing page and pay securely through Stripe. You can subscribe before adding any websites. You start with a one-seat minimum, and the count updates as you add clients.
Invoices
Every invoice appears under Invoice history with View and PDF links. Your next renewal amount is shown in the Billing summary.
Cancel
Click Cancel subscription. You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you can Resubscribe any time.
While a subscription is inactive, including before you first subscribe, you can still sign in and browse everything, but you can't make changes. Subscribing unlocks editing straight away.
